It is surreal that it has already been two weeks since the arrival of our little man, yet it feels like he has been apart of our family forever. We welcomed Maguire Fredrick Forbes Rattai on the morning of June 17th. Though he was 8 days overdue, his arrival could not have come on a more perfect day. He will forever share his day of birth with not only my Grandpa George and his twin brother Jack, but also my brother Jeff, three of the most kind, wonderful men that I know. It was also very perfect that my parents were down in Calgary and were able to take the girls out for a fun filled day in the mountains with some of their cousins and Brian and I could spend the day falling in love with our beautiful, perfect little man. When the girls did arrive to greet Brother Bear, it was with a little nervousness and awe.
We are slowly getting into a new routine, which includes the girls getting up in the morning and checking on Maguire in his bassinet. Thankfully, he is use to the volume of noise in our house from his nine months on the inside, so he can sleep through pretty much anything. I am so thankful that I took these images while in the hospital. He has already changed so much. And the reactions from the girls will be something I treasure forever. We love you, Brother Bear.

Our oldest (though not quite this old usually) celebrated her 100th day of kindergarten. The class had the opportunity to dress up as a 100 year old. It was fun to plan out her outfit and daddy did a really great job of getting her ready on her big day. She has grown so much as a learner in the past 100 days. It is very awesome to see her progress and I am excited to see her learn even more. She loves to play school and she knows all of the routines and teacher lingo... We may have a teacher on our hands. She was not too happy when it came time to take out her rollers. It was a little bit of a mess... Several rounds of shampoos and conditions had to be done.
November was a busy month of editing and guest teaching, so picking up my camera did not happen as often as I like.
But it was a month filled with enjoying the weather while it was nice, playing indoors when needed, a first wiggly tooth and because my husband LOVES (this may be an understatement) Christmas, it was a month filled with Christmas activities and traditions. We are also super excited for the new addition that will be joining our family in June of next year. This little peanut may also be part of the reason that I was not taking a lot of personal photos as well... How is it November? Seriously. Eeks!
The last two months have been so busy! This included but is not limited to: our last summer trip up north for a wonderful family party, Annistyn starting kindergarten, Blakely turning 3, our annual photo shoot (Blakely hated every minute of, I know because she told me), Beakerhead with cousins on an incredibly warm evening, Annistyn turning 5, Flames games with daddy, pumpkin decorating and Halloween, Sprinkled in between was guest teaching, family shoots and weddings for me. So busy, but so wonderful. And I have these images to look back and cherish. Time flies. As things slow down, I hope to pick up my camera a little more and actually blog one month at a time. It is so amazing that these images were only taken last month, but the warm summer air has been replaced by the cool crisp fall air, and summer adventures are now schedules and new routines. August was about family and making memories.
