"Sometimes, real superheroes reside in the hearts of small children fighting big battles." This fall I meet sweet, little Greta and both sides of her family. Greta was just about to celebrate her third birthday. She reminded me a lot of my girls: not too interested in posing for photos, she carried make-up around with her, she loved playing with her family and exploring.
Unfortunately, she was about to start her second round of treatments to battle the rare liver cancer - hepatoblastoma - that had come back. She has since been a brave and amazing little fighter (Greta's Guardians) but her family has been faced with limited options to help her continue fighting. Having a child with any type of illness is a parent's worst nightmare, but being told that there is nothing left that our Canadian Health Care System can do, would be beyond unimaginable. Her family has been given hope and are now exploring options in Cincinnati. Along with this hope, unfortunately, comes a large financial burden. Any help would be greatly appreciated. More information on Greta's story can be found here. There are 2 ways to donate: 1. Direct donation in trust through CIBC. There is no administration cost to donate into the trust and you can donate at any CIBC location across Canada using the following account information: Acct #00809 6479588 2.
